I'm loving learning how to move and make sounds
I'm just a wittle baby who loves to sleep all day
Aunt Caroleen and Uncle Will bought me the most comfy stroller/bassinet
Papa Drake bought me the bassinet that lets me sleep near Mommy and Daddy
I love the swing that Aunt Michelle bought me
I fell asleep on Mommy
Daddy and I fell asleep on Mommy
I've decided I love bathtime
After the bath I get to be wrapped up all warm and cozy
Sirius and Minerva guard the stairs so no one can come up... but also no one can go down...
I'm very gassy this week, and it hurts my tummy - so Daddy bounces me up and down
Bedtime is the best!
we do bath, then read, then pray, and then Mommy rocks me to sleep and sings to me while I drink my bottle.
Two Weeks Old
I'm trying so hard to breastfeed
But mainly I just fall asleep
I fall asleep while drinking my bottle too, though
Sleeping is nice
My friends Bethany and Anna came over and we all hung out by the pool
I couldn't get in yet though, so I hung out in my pack and play bassinet
My orange hair really comes out in the sunshine
Jaz and I are getting used to each other
Noni and Pappy came to visit

They helped put me to bed

Pappy said the benediction
I love cuddling with them
That visit was wonderful, but we crashed hard afterward

Mommy and Daddy are trying to introduce me to music

I'll tolerate them, but I'm not really sure how I'm feeling about this
Sleepy. That's how I'm feeling
Three Weeks Old
I'm starting to get out and about. I went to the Church Picnic!
I slept alot during the service, but then I cried and Mrs. Claire held me.
Today is Mommy's birthday. I've only been alive for three weeks. 33 years seems like a very long time.
Auntie Erica came to visit us from Richmond. We had a lot of fun cuddling.
She came over to Papa's house to help unpack - and decided that we needed a photoshoot.
Papa's house is a mess and it's stinky, but mom has milk, so I'm ok.
I got to take a nap in my diaper bag... which turns into a changing pad that can double as a bassinet. My nap was in the bathroom because it was nice and dark.

Still having a gassy time - so daddy bounces me up and down. No skipping arm day, daddy.
1 Month Old
Four Weeks Old
Still trying to breastfeed, but we're fighting a losing battle.
Sleep is not a battle though. I love sleep.
Daddy loves sleep too.
Jaz dog and I are still getting used to each other.
five Weeks Old
Mom, Dad, Jaz, and I went to the Catonsville, MD 4th of July Parade
I rocked my Grogu onesie! I'm in 0-3 size clothes now.
Mom cried.
I'm learning how to show my emotions with my smiles!
I'm also learning how to grab mom's hair and not let go.
Tummy time is starting to be more fun. I love my books.
Six Weeks Old
Papa bought me a ton of clothes in 0-3m and included a pair of sunglasses. I'm pretty cool now.

I'm starting to coo.
Mommy absolutely loves putting me in overalls.
I absolutely love milk.
Mommy also likes to stare at me while I sleep and make sure I'm breathing. I mean... cool, I guess...

I'm growing into my bath chair, I'm so chill at bath time.
My changing table window is my happy place
so is being on Mommy's chest in the warm sunlight.
Who's that pretty boy in the mirror there?
I'm a handsome dude.
Seven Weeks Old

Church music is beautiful and makes me want to sleep here and soak it all in.

I'm learning to dance while I move my head and practice muscle control. (I'm also spitting up...)
I'm about to get on an airplane for the first time! We're flying to Charlotte for Daddy's birthday. He's going to see his favorite soccer team, Chelsea, play.
I get to play with my Noni.
My Uncle Jon fed me. I like him, even if he IS wearing the wrong jersey to the game.
Aunt Katherine burped all the bubbles out. I was happy.
I had a hard time sleeping in the hotel room at first, so mommy let me have the bed until I was in a deep sleep.
Jaz dog stole the couch.
I love my Pappy. He makes me smile.
We got to spend time with Uncle Doug and Aunt Ruth.
My Aunt Julie came all the way from Charleston to see me!
I'm still cool in SC.
Went to Greenville to visit with dad's college friends, but we didn't get pictures.
Milk drunk is the best drunk.
Tummy time is super special when you have your book friends.
4 generations of awesomeness!
and sweet (great) Grandma bonding time.
Eight Weeks Old

Mommy went back to work this week, and I got to go with her to the office on her first day!
We went to visit with my godmothers, Gloria and Esther right before Esther had surgery to help her head feel better.
Aunt Glo gave me a bath. I didn't have my bathchair, but I still loved the warm water. She was very sweet and gentle with me too, and rocked me to sleep, holding me until it was time to go home.

I got my first Jaz Dog kisses!
Got to be on another plane, but this time we went north to NH
Mommy and I discovered the fun of airport diaper changes
I got to meet my second cousins as we all celebrated Noni's mom's life
Cuddle time with Noni makes both of us so happy.
I think I like this airplane thing. I get to be on the top of the world looking down on creation
which is great, as long as I have my milk.
2 Months Old
Nine Weeks Old
We went over to Aunt Esther's house as soon as we got back from NH because we wanted to see how she was doing after her surgery.
It was also a celebration day for Aunt Dolly and Uncle Joel's anniversary - and Aunt Aimee's birthday. I got to cuddle Uncle Ken
and I got to cuddle my Aunt Glenis
and sweet cousin Lydia!
Aunt Glo held me again until I went to sleep for the night.
It was a very sweet visit all-around.
Mommy had to unexpectedly go into work on a Monday, so I got to go with her.
She's secretly trying to introduce me to drone engineering so I can get my head start in the industry.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays when Mommy goes into the office, Daddy and I wait by the bay window for her to get home
When she gets home I get ALL the Mommy cuddles.
I love Mommy.

My parents got to me. I'm a rockNroll baby now.

Gamma is fun to imitate. She's teaching me vowel sounds

I'm a happy buddy bear.
Ten Weeks Old
My first visit to the Baltimore Zoo. It's a bit sunny, and I didn't really care for the carousel, but hanging out with Mrs. Randi and Hazel was fun.
Mama held on tight, but I felt safe on my shark.
Daddy put together my floatie for my first time in the pool!
I love being in the water.

I have a favorite album that I like to listen to while I do my tummy time.
Crinkly!

I'm really getting the hang of smiling and laughing.
To the left is a picture of my daddy as a baby boy. To the right is me so we can compare how much I look like him.
I also look like my mommy. It almost looks like I'm looking into a mirror.

I have successfully mastered the "Aghh"
Look how big I've gotten!
Mom bought me a seat for the grocery cart, but I'm not really a fan.
Eleven Weeks Old
I've almost outgrown my basinet.
But I can fit into some mighty fine clothing now!
Dada and I are rooting on Chelsea.
It's time to say goodbye to the Pack and Play basinet.
Twelve Weeks Old
I love when Gamma helps with bedtime.
Sometimes I'm stubborn though, and daddy has to work extra hard to make me sleepy.
We had an early morning Chelsea game. Daddy was excited. GOOOOOOOAAAAALLL!

Speaking of stubborn bedtimes - mommy's lullabies were having the opposite of their desired affect.
Jaz and I are becoming friends.
Daddy's work is booooring
3 Months Old
I got a new chair so that I can sit at the table with mom and dad.

The chair also lets me spend time with my Peekaboo friend, Flappy.
Gamma and Papa had dinner with us!
My great Aunt and Uncle visited us all the way from Indonesia.
Cuddles with Aunt Jess are so nice.
Flappy and I are friends now. He holds my milk.

I'd get down with the Andrews Sisters.
Lucy and I like to hang out in my window seat
She also watches over me while I sleep so that I don't feel so alone.
Yeah. I know I'm cute.
We went to see Aunt Glo cheer on her high school football team.

It was my first ever in-person football game!
Auntie Essy cuddled me and I loved it.
Mom might be crying again. I was so tiny then - and I'm still tiny, but not quite so much.

Trying to flip from stomach to back

and also from back to stomach.
Enjoying the last moments of summer
pool tummy time

Jaz gives the best kisses.
It got cold and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Gotta start young - first visit to the Baltimore Guinness Factory. Hopefully we get to see the one in Dublin next summer.
Aunt Kelli and I got to enjoy (Irish?) Oktoberfest

In case you were curious - this is my poop face.
I might be teething. I'm definitely fussy enough. I also might have nicked my gums with my sharp fingernails that I won't let mommy cut.
4 Months Old
September 29 - October 28
Baptism Day, 10/2/2023 - Church of the Resurrection Anglican
We attended the 2022 Missionary Kid Reunion in Waxhaw. James got to meet many of the people who daddy grew up with in Brazil - and their kids too. He got to cuddle his great grandmother Marjorie again as well. He gets some of his red hair genes from her :)
The drive home - which would normally take about 8 hours took 10+ because...baby
Got to see Aunt Aimee, Uncle Paulie, and sweet Lydia onthe way home.
Watching Preston ride the train at the Fall Festival.
Happy first Halloween from Han, Leia, and Chewy!
5 Months Old
October 29 - November 28
First solid food - Oatmeal mixed with formula. He liked it. He likes all food pretty much.
We got to go to Alice's wedding and James had a BLAST - passing from one bridesmaid to another until we dragged him back to the hotel.
5 months old and already a world traveler. We took a trip to St. Gallen Switzerland to visit some of mom's close friends. We mainly stayed at their house and visited, but we also took a train ride through the Valais and then stayed two nights in Montreux and got to tour a castle! I loved croissant, and the castle was pretty cool - but I wasn't a huge fan of the time change and I didn't sleep much... which means Mom and Dad didn't sleep much at all either.
